Hiring our Eco-Building

About the building

The building is located in Growing Communities' Allens Gardens site, just off Manor Road (scroll down for map). This is a peaceful, walled garden where we grow organic salad leaves, fruit and herbs for our organic box scheme. The wooden building is at the far end of the Allens Gardens site, surrounded by trees, and has one comfortable open-plan space that can hold around 10-15 people.

Use

It is ideal for meetings, brainstorms or courses  - with (weather permitting) the chance to use the gardens outside as breakout area or space for quiet contemplation.

It is also ideal for health practitioners e.g. massage, herbalists, accupunture who want to hire a peaceful and very special space in which to see their clients or to deliver training with other practitioners.

The building has huge French doors that open onto a decked area next to our wildlife pond. Designed in line with ecological principles the building also has a living sedum roof and a fully functional unisex composting toilet!

The building has an electric heater. It also has a small kitchenette - tea and coffee making facilities, electric hob, and organic Fairtrade tea and coffee are provided.

When  you can hire it

The building can be made available for hire during daylight hours on most days (not Mondays). We can't hire in the evenings as the whole park closes at dusk. Please email to discuss available dates and times or to discuss any aspect of building hire in more detail.

Rates

Hire rates for community organisations/social enterprises are as follows:
Weekdays - full day £100, half day £60 (am or pm).
Weekend - £120 per day. You would need to be able to pick up keys during the week.

Corporate and longer-term hire rates available on request.

By hiring our eco-building you are helping to support our projects; helping Growing Communities to provide local people with long-term, practical alternatives to the damaging food system that currently exists.
