You can join our box scheme in a number of ways:

  • On-line: Fill in the form below and click 'Send my order' at the end.
  • Over the phone: Call us on 020 7502 7588. Please leave a message with a daytime telephone number so we can call you back if we need to.

Please note: All memberships start on the first Wednesday of the month. To ensure your membership is in place by Wednesday 01 Sep, we need to have received your order by 4:00pm on Wednesday 25 Aug. We will contact you to confirm exactly when you can pick up your first bags.

Payment details

Please make sure your payment gets to us by the 1st of the month. For regular orders we encourage you to pay by standing order if possible. Standing orders make payment easy and enable Growing Communities to plan ahead. Please use this option if you can!

How to pay by standing order:

To set up a standing order, please let your bank know the details below. This can usually be done over the phone or on-line or you can write to your bank if you prefer.

Please use your name as a reference so that your payment can be spotted on our bank statements.

  • Whether you are making a one-off payment for a monthly trial or setting up a regular monthly standing order.
  • The amount payable each month (prices are listed on our online form)
  • The day of the month when payment will be made from your account (we prefer this to be the 1st of each month)

Alternative payment methods

We understand that some people get paid on an irregular basis and that setting up a regular standing order just may not be possible, if you would like to join the scheme but cannot set up a standing order please contact us by email or phone us (020 7502 7588) to discuss alternative payment methods.

Healthy Start vouchers

The Box Scheme is part of the government's Healthy Start scheme which means that if you are in receipt of Healthy Start vouchers, these can be used towards the cost of your produce order with us. Please get in touch with us by email or phone (020 7502 7588) if you want to use this option to help pay for your order with us.

Holiday policy

When Growing Communities sets the prices for the bags (which are worked out anually and averaged out over each month), we assume that everyone on the box scheme will go on holiday for 4 weeks each year; and our prices reflect this. If we didn't do this, prices would be higher.

If you go away for just 4 weeks a year, then you will not have paid for produce that you are not receiving. If you go for away for longer than 4 weeks, and you let us know in advance, we can refund you for each week over the standard 4 weeks that you do not want your bags.

Please let us know whenever you go away - by the Thursday of the week preceding your holiday - so we don't waste produce. Or, if you wish, you may arrange for a friend or neighbour to collect your bags while you're away and try the box scheme for themselves. If you do this, you don't need to let us know.

Final steps

    Once you have clicked on the 'Send my order' button below, your order will be sent to us by email.

    Check your spam filter

    Within a few days, we will contact you to acknowledge your order - normally by email. Please add nicki.east@growingcommunities.org to your address book or anti-spam 'whitelist' to ensure our emails don't get mistakenly identified as spam. Do call us if you do not hear from us within a few days.

    Arrange your payment

    In the meantime you will need to set up your standing order / bank transfer or send us a cheque.

    A few days before your first bags are ready for collection, we will contact you again to confirm your pick up details, to make sure you are definitely starting your order and to ensure your payments are in place.

    Collect your bag

    If everything is confirmed, you can come to collect your first bag on Wednesday 01 Sep.

    Help our monitoring

    Please help us by completing the optional, anonymous monitoring questionnaire. We will process your order even if you do not complete the monitoring questions.

    Do contact us if you do not get a confirmation from us within the next few days. Please note that we are not open at weekends.
