Sprouting Broccoli with Chilli
Purple
sprouting broccoli (chopped into small pieces)

teaspoon sesame seeds
1
dessertspoon sesame oil
1
teaspoon lime juice
1
teaspoon Thai Fish Sauce (optional)
1
teaspoon soy sauce
1
small red chilli (chopped & de-seeded)
Toast
sesame seeds by stirring them around in a small, heavy pan over a
medium heat. As soon as
they start to pop & go golden turn off. Stir them into the rest of the ingredients in a large bowl.
Steam broccoli for 4 minutes – or boil in a small amount of
water for 2 minutes or less. Tip drained broccoli into bowl and stir
around with the other ingredients. Serve.

of sprouting broccoli (or a large head of green broccoli)

onion
1 tblsp Olive oil or butter
½ tsp nutmeg
1 stock cube (chicken or veg)
Cup of grated cheddar (optional)
Yoghurt or sour cream to serve (optional)
This
is really simple and great as a quick and delicious lunch, supper or
starter. Wash the broccoli and cut into roughly 1cm pieces. Chop the
onion. Peel the potatoes and cube. Put the butter or oil into a
saucepan and heat. Add all the veg and give them a good stir for a
minute. Cover with boiling water and add the stock cube and nutmeg.
Simmer until the potatoes are tender. Blend. Stir in cheese if you are
using it and serve with a swirl of yoghurt and some buttered crusty
bread.
