AGM 2019

Wednesday 4 December @ 6.30pm

Our AGM is coming up at the beginning of December. It's a great opportunity to meet fellow veg scheme members, eat delicious food made with our local organic produce and hear more about the progress of the organisation.

You'll meet our director Julie and the members of our voluntary board and hear what they have to say about the past year at GC. Everyone welcome.

We'll be serving food and drinks from 6.30pm then the action will kick off at 7pm. Hope to see you there.

Official notice of meeting

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual General Meeting of the Company for 2019 will be held at The Old Fire Station, 61 Leswin Road, Stoke Newington, London N16 7NX on Wednesday 4 December 2019 at 6.30pm.

Nibbles and drinks from Hackney Growers Kitchen will be available from 6.30pm and the meeting will start at 7pm.

Copies of the Annual Report/Annual Accounts will be available to view or take away.

Board elections 2019-20

Because of Growing Communities' special status as a community business, our members  - including people on the veg scheme - can vote for the members of the Board and you are also invited to stand for election to the Board. There is a nomination form below.

Current Board membership

The following Board members are retiring 'by rotation' (one third of the Board retires each year):

  • Sarah Havard
  • Kath Dalmeny

Both are seeking re-election.

The other members of the Board are not retiring:

  • Richard Dana
  • Geraldine Gilbert
  • Natalie Silk

Maria Hayden and Karla Berron will stand down at the AGM.

Personal statements

If you stand for election, we'd like to give you the chance to let other members know a bit about yourself so that they can be better informed when making up their minds if it comes to a vote. So you have the option to supply us with a statement in support of your nomination, of no more than 250 words. We will then circulate this to members with a list of candidates, nearer the AGM.

Nominations must be received no later than 15 November 2019.
