Learn how

to grow food

Trainee growers

Growing Communities is recruiting four volunteer trainee growers.

We are looking for enthusiastic people who are keen to learn how to grow food in a sustainable way, enjoy working outdoors and working with others. We welcome applications from all sectors of the community.

The (unpaid) traineeship will involve learning all aspects of running our urban market gardens and growing vegetables with a particular emphasis on salad leaves. These traineeships are aimed at people who want to develop their food-growing skills. Trainees will work alongside the grower on our Hackney market gardens one day a week (either Monday or Tuesday) and attend six evening tutorials. Traineeships start in mid-March and run until the end of September.

Please look at the job description for more details about the job and the sort of people we are looking for.
