Ian and Rebecca at Peach & Pippin in Essex - who supply the veg scheme and farmers' market with apples, plums and other fruit - are throwing open the gates of their idyllic smallholding this weekend for Open Farm Sunday - the farming industry’s national open day - to get us city dwellers out of doors and discovering the world of farming, which is so often obscured from our daily lives.
Peach & Pippin will be offering home-made cakes and coffees, farm tours, woodland walks and den building, egg collecting, tree climbing.
Our Dagenham Farm is open every Sunday throughout the summer - so come along between 11am till 3pm for tours, buy some plants or our very own home-grown and home-made DagenJAM to take home.
Drop-in volunteer sessions also happen on Sundays from 11am to 3pm. This is a great way to get closer to nature, learn about organic horticulture and it's great exercise too!
