Our DagenJAM open day at Dagenham Farm is on Sunday 15 July from 1-5pm.
Be a beekeeper for an hour: Eric the expert honey man, who set up the hives at the farm, will be doing a demo at 2pm. Find out how the hive works, where the honey comes from, and find out just how busy bees really are.
This year's trainees, Sohefa, Joseena and Ashlea have been busy harvesting fruit, creating recipes, stirring jam and baking scones for the big day. (Here they are planting strawberries in their first week at the farm back in April.)
Come along and enjoy a cream tea, tour the farm, buy some just-picked produce or join a cooking workshop. There'll be a raffle too, with prizes made on the farm. Dagenham Farm is a beautiful place with loads of interesting projects going on and the day provides a chance to find out where your salad/chard/stir-fry pack/tomatoes/etc started life. You'll also be the first to hear our exciting plans for the bowling green pavilion.
